Our annual exhibition is selected by a guest juror from national and international submissions. The exhibition highlights contemporary art practices in all media. Additionally, the September Competition connects the museum with artists who excel in their field and media.

The History Center in the Bossier Central Library Complex presents a special program with Dr. Cheryl White, Hubert Humphries Endowed Professor of History at LSU-S. Dr. White is the author of several books on local history and also holds the Yancey Strain Endowed Curatorship of the Spring Street Museum in downtown Shreveport.Mary Bennett Cane was born in New Hampshire and arrived in the pine forests of what later became Shreveport in the 1830’s. Mary's husband William Bennett established a trading post in 1832 at the northwest corner of Commerce and Shreve Square, which became the Shreve Town trading company in 1836. Mary herself became a businesswoman and landowner, and her Elysian Grove Plantation on the eastern bank of the Red River formed the earliest lots of the City of Bossier City.Free and open to the public. No preregistration required.

The Bossier Arts Council turns 45 this year! Join us as we celebrate our mission of showcasing the arts of Bossier Parish with an evening of fun entertainment & creativity! On July 17th we will be hosting a myriad of activities including live music performances in the East Bank Gallery, a Paint Party with old 45 Records donated by The Little Shop of Music, and periodic building tours through and around the East Bank Theatre, all accompanied by free Light Refreshments!Attendance is free, but we are asking everyone to consider giving a Birthday Gift to us this year by ways of a financial donation! Leave a tax deductible contribution towards our mission to support, promote, and create artistic and cultural opportunities in Bossier Parish. Donations of $45 and above will hang on our wall of hits, greeting theatre attendees! Donations of $450 or more will go platinum on our wall of hits! 45 Revolutions contributions can be made from now until December 31, 2025!
SAAC Announces Cast of Summer Production: “HAIRSPRAY, the Broadway Musical”
The South Arkansas Arts Center (SAAC) will soon present its summer production of “HAIRSPRAY, the Broadway Musical”, running from July 10-13 and July 17-20, 2025. Licensed by MTI and sponsored by Murphy USA, this energetic and uplifting show is a perfect way to celebrate community, diversity, and the power of music.

Ancestral Artistry: The Influence of Africans & Creoles of Color on Louisiana Architecture tells the story of the architectural legacy of Creoles and people of African descent on Louisiana's distinctive architecture over 300 years and contemporary efforts to train the next generation of master craftsmen. The film, produced by the Louisiana Architecture Foundation, won the Louisiana Endowment for the Humanities' 2025 Humanitarian Documentary of the Year award.
The Creole Heritage Center is thrilled to bring this film to Natchitoches with their co-host the Louisiana Architecture Foundation. The film screening will start at 7pm with a panel discussion from individuals involved in making the film immediately following at 8pm.
