Ancestral Artistry Film Screening
Ancestral Artistry: The Influence of Africans & Creoles of Color on Louisiana Architecture tells the story of the architectural legacy of Creoles and people of African descent on Louisiana's distinctive architecture over 300 years and contemporary efforts to train the next generation of master craftsmen. The film, produced by the Louisiana Architecture Foundation, won the Louisiana Endowment for the Humanities' 2025 Humanitarian Documentary of the Year award.
The Creole Heritage Center is thrilled to bring this film to Natchitoches with their co-host the Louisiana Architecture Foundation.
The film screening will start at 7pm with a panel discussion from individuals involved in making the film immediately following at 8pm.
