This course provides practical tools and techniques to help individuals effectively manage their finances. Students will learn key budgeting strategies, including setting financial goals, tracking income and expenses, prioritizing spending, and building savings. The course will explore different budgeting methods to help learners find an approach that fits their lifestyle. Participants will also gain insights into financial planning, debt management, and smart spending habits. By the end of the course, students will be equipped with the knowledge and skills to create and maintain a budget that supports financial stability and long-term success.

Join the Baroque Artists of Shreveport for "Baroque by Candlelight," featuring a chamber orchestra playing Handel's Water Music Suite in F major, Telemann's Concerto for 3 horns, 2 oboes, and solo violin, and Barriere's sonata for 2 cellos, a Bach flute sonata. Stay for Wassail & Cookies in the Church Parlor after the concert.

Warm up with the smells and stories of a 19th-century holiday kitchen at Fireside Feast! Throughout the day, site staff will demonstrate the preparation of a traditional Victorian-era dish on the kitchen’s 1889 Grand Quaker woodburning stove.

Guests are invited to drop in anytime to observe different stages of historic cooking in action, from fire tending and ingredient prep to simmering and serving. It’s a special chance to experience the rhythms of holiday foodways just as the Starr family might have had over a century ago.

Please note: This is a demonstration-only event. No food will be served or tasted. The experience is included with regular house admission and takes place indoors, with small groups admitted to the kitchen to ensure an up-close and engaging visit.

Shreveport’s own Zhailon Levingston will be opening his third major production in NYC as director (and his second on Broadway) with Cats: The Jellicle Ball this spring, but first he will be leading an all-star cast of Stage Center favorites in Larry Kramer’s masterwork, The Normal Heart, starring Artistic Director Jared Watson!

A searing drama about public and private indifference to the AIDS plague and one man’s lonely fight to awaken the world to the crisis, Larry Kramer’s landmark play about love and loss chronicles the rise of the AIDS crisis in New York City. Based on the playwright’s own experiences founding the Gay Men’s Health Crisis in the 1980s, The Normal Heart follows Ned Weeks, a reluctant leader but furious activist, as he battles against a world unwilling to confront the epidemic. As relevant and powerful as ever, this Tony Award-winning drama is a strong indictment against ignorance and a heartfelt story of love and compassion.
