Thursday, August 11, 2022, at 6 p.m. When children experience too many adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), they can develop lifelong physical health and social problems. A staggering sixty-four percent of Louisiana children are not considered to be flourishing. Ranae Moran is joined on this Health Matters by Laura Alderman, Director of The Institute for Childhood Resilience, at LSU Health Shreveport, and Dr. Pamela McPherson, Vice-Chair of the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine at LSU Health Shreveport, who will provide information about ACEs, the effects on children, and how the Institute for Childhood Resilience is working in the community to help children become more resilient. Questions will be taken during the show at 1-800-552-8502.
