Amidst all of the shopping, planning, and decorating for Christmas, people often forget to celebrate the holiday with their community. To remind Shreveport of why the holiday is celebrated, Holy Angels is hosting their yearly Christmas Pageant on December 12.
Toni Goodin is the Business Development Director for Holy Angels, which provides opportunities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Holy Angels has hosted the Christmas pageant for 38 years, and Goodin is excited for the community to join them again this year.
"I actually went over and watched practice this morning. And it is just absolutely, I mean, adorable," Goodin says. "I just, kind of, got teary-eyed earlier being over there and seeing how good they’re doing and how energetic they are about the Christmas pageant. It’s their way of giving back to us. "
The pageant will feature more than 150 residents celebrating Christmas with the community.
Festivities begin at 11 am at Holy Angels located at 10450 Ellerbe Rd. This is Alaina Atnip with Red River Radio.
