SOUND OF ART - The R.W. Norton Art Gallery in Shreveport has a new exhibit where you’ll want to bring your headphones to get the most out of it. "The Sound of Art" melds audible and visual arts to create an elevated museum experience. The Norton’s Designer of Exhibits and Special Events—Emily Feazel gives us an overview: "The new exhibit at the museum is 'The Sound of Art' it's a collaboration and pairing of sound and music with art pieces throughout our

permanent collection. So we had community contributors come in, anyone from musicians, authors, brewery owners, conductors from the symphony---and they all chose a piece of artwork and they paired it with a piece of music that they think best represents that painting or sculpture." One of the local musicians who worked on this exhibit is guitarist, Wayne Sallee. We asked him to share his thoughts. "Everything in here is somebody's heart and soul, everything you see hanging

on the walls--the art itself-- took a long time to make. There's more to it than just paint and brushstrokes, people's heart and soul has gone into that piece." Wayne points out one artpiece in particular. "When I was looking at the 'Africa Awakening' sculpture, looking into the person's eyes really stirs you. So there's a lot of inspiration here."
