Jewish Film Double Feature
See One or See Both... Either way, there's food and drink in between!

Films and Times: Sapiro v. Ford at 3:30 p.m., Abe at 6:00 p.m.

A popcorn combo is included with each film, and a reception with food and beverages will be held in between for attendees at either or both.

Sapiro v. Ford: The notoriously antisemitic automobile tycoon Henry Ford met his match when a Jewish lawyer named Aaron Sapiro brought a libel suit against him. Gaylen Ross's enlightening documentary tells the ultimate American David and Goliath story (68 minutes).

Abe: Twelve-year-old Abe has a complicated family: part Israeli, part Palestinian, and constantly fighting. But when he meets chef Chico and his fusion cuisine, Abe wonders if he can craft the perfect meal to bring them all together (85 minutes).

The US Air Force Band of the West will be performing 5 shows throughout Louisiana and Texas this September. These shows feature the exceptional talents of the nation’s finest Airmen musicians.

Based in San Antonio, Texas, the USAF Band of the West is comprised of 61 highly-trained professional musicians who have dedicated themselves to serving their country through music. Whether performing for live, radio, or television audiences, these Airman are dedicated to enhancing community relations, promoting esprit de corps, and connecting with millions each year.

As musical ambassadors of the United States Air Force, the Band of the West travels more than 125,000 miles annually and provides hundreds of free performances to military and civilian audiences throughout Texas and the surrounding states. The Band is made up of multiple large and small ensembles and can blend seamlessly into any event!

Noel Community Arts Program will host an Opening Reception for “Belonging: A Community Exhibition Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month” at 2 pm on Sunday, Sept. 13. The exhibition will be held at the Highland Art House, 1525 Stephens Avenue in Shreveport. Featuring artwork by NCAP instructor Lisandra Di Liberto Torres and regional artists, this exhibition explores themes of culture, identity, community, connection, and home. Admission is free.
