Jan 30 Friday
The Alexandria Museum of Art presents the first public viewing of the Saratoga Collection. Donated to the museum by Marcel L. Wisznia and curated by Terrence Sanders-Smith, the Saratoga Collection was previously housed in the Saratoga Building located at 212 Loyola Ave in New Orleans and features works created by artists living and working in the city in the immediate aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. The works in the collection are reflective of contemporary trends in art of the time and show some insight into the significance of this historic disaster on the art and culture of the city of New Orleans.
Open: Tuesday-Friday 10:00-5:00PM Saturday 10:00-4:00PM
