City Park Players brings comedy “Noises Off” to Hearn Stage

City Park Players is thrilled to bring “Noises Off”, by Michael Frayn, to Hearn Stage this year. Directed by Jared Guillory, Noises Off opens September 14 and features: Jill Dupont, Brayden Smith, Mark Weinzettle, Jacob Parker, Madeline Grant, Halli Watson, Steven Byone, Mia Huffman, and Nick Blackstone.

ABOUT THE PLAY: Michael Frayn’s “Noises Off” takes a fond look at the follies of actors, whose susceptibility to out-of-control egos, memory loss, and passionate affairs turn every performance into a high-risk adventure. This play-within-a-play captures a touring theatre troupe’s production in three stages: dress rehearsal, the opening performance, and performance. Brimming with slapstick comedy, “Noises Off” is a delightful backstage farce, complete with slamming doors, falling trousers, and flying sardines!

If you have never experienced theater as an actor or a crew member, then perhaps “Noises Off” is simply an entertaining show with a lot of laughs. However, for those who “tread the boards,” it might very well be the funniest play ever written.

“Noises Off” performances continue September 14-24 - Thursdays-Saturdays at 7:30pm; Sundays at 2:30pm on Hearn Stage in Downtown Alexandria. Tickets range from $5-15, and are on sale now at cpptheatre.com and will be available 30 minutes before each performance in the lobby of Kress Theatre.
