Arkansas Museum of Natural Resources to host author of ‘Boggy Creek Casebook’
Lyle Blackburn to discuss Arkansas’s Fouke Monster, autograph copies of his books

(Smackover, Ark.) – The Arkansas Museum of Natural Resources will host a program about Arkansas’s legendary Fouke Monster with author Lyle Blackburn on Saturday, August 19, at 2 p.m. This program is free to the public. Seating is limited and reservations are recommended.

South Arkansas folklore tells of sightings of a bigfoot-like creature, near the town of Fouke, in Miller County. Nicknamed the Fouke Monster, reports of the creature in the 1970s attracted nationwide attention and inspired the fictional movie “The Legend of Boggy Creek.” Blackburn has written a book, “Boggy Creek Casebook,” that compiles documented sightings of these encounters. Blackburn will have copies of his book for sale, and he will be available for autographing.

Blackburn is the author of several acclaimed books whose subject matter reflects his lifelong fascination with legends and sighting reports of cryptids – creatures currently unknown to science. He is a frequent guest on radio programs such as “Coast to Coast AM,” and has been featured on numerous television shows airing on Animal Planet, Destination America, Discovery Science and A&E.
