Ranae Moran is joined by Michael Butterman, Music Director for the Shreveport Symphony Orchestra, on this "Spotlight" to talk about the documentary film, "Following the Ninth," which explores the impact of Beethoven's final symphony and its timeless global impact, including its ability to bring unity, healing and restoration amid some of the most troubling and historic events. The film will show at the Robinson Film Center, 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20. Maestro Butterman will answer questions from the audience after the show. On this Spotlight, Kermit Poling talks with Shreveport Symphony Music Director Michael Butterman and Igor Lapinski. The Symphony will present Magic Meets the Symphony, with Igor Lapinski combining piano music and magical illusions, Saturday, 7:30 p.m., in the Riverview Theatre. Vladimir Tsarkova and Elena Tsarkova from Cirque de la Symphonie will also perform. Musical selections from Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, A Night on Bald Mountain, Sabre Dance, and other favorites will be featured.
