Dear Central Louisiana Listener,
As many of you may be aware, our station in Alexandria shares a tower with Louisiana Public Broadcasting. LPB put a new television antenna on this tower in 2018, but this antenna was damaged recently by Hurricane Laura. Due to the damage, they will spend the next month working on repairs.
Fortunately, our own antenna was not damaged, but, while the television repair work is going on, we must switch to our own lower-powered backup antenna for the safety of their tower workers. KLSA will be operating at a fraction of our normal operating power during this time and, depending on where you live, you may not be able to hear KLSA as well as you normally would.
We’d like to remind you that you will still be able to listen to all three of our channels via our website at www.redriverradio.org. There is a built-in audio player near the top of the page. It works on a wide variety of devices.
Also, this work comes just as we are getting ready for our spring pledge drive. The drive has already been delayed because of the snow storms that blanketed our region. Since the pandemic, these drives have become more important than ever. If you are able, we ask you to make an online contribution.
We greatly appreciate your patience and support as we work to bring you the programming you depend on. Rest assured that as soon as LPB gives us the clearance to go back to our main system and full power we will do so. Again, thank you for your understanding.
Best wishes,
Kermit Poling General Manager
