— The Louisiana House approved two anti-abortion bills in advance of the anticipated U.S. Supreme Court ruling to overturn the landmark Roe vs Wade ruling.
— Louisiana lawmakers have converted a controversial bill doing away with the need for permits to carry concealed weapons into one allowing trained teachers and school administrators to carry guns on campuses.
— The Louisiana Senate voted 34-0 earlier this week to ask voters if they want to remove language about slavery from the state Constitution.
— Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson says he’d like to use some of the state’s projected budget surplus of $1.4 billion dollars for improving school safety.


Chuck Smith brings more than 30 years' broadcast and media experience to Red River Radio. He began his career as a radio news reporter and transitioned to television journalism and newsmagazine production. Chuck studied mass communications at Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia and motion picture / television production at the University of California at Los Angeles. He has also taught writing for television at York Technical College in Rock Hill, South Carolina and video / film production at Centenary College of Louisiana, Shreveport.
