KLDN Lufkin is Getting a New Transmitter This Week

— A bill that would keep transgender women and girls in Louisiana from competing on college and K-12 women’s and girls’ athletic teams has moved a step closer to passage.
— A Louisiana House committee voted Wednesday in support of a bill that would make abortion a crime of homicide for which a woman ending her pregnancy could be charged, along with anyone helping her.
— A new poll says a majority of Texas voters DO NOT support automatically banning all abortions if Roe v. Wade is overturned.
— Arkansas has built up a surplus of nearly $1 billion for the fiscal year more quickly than expected.

Chuck Smith brings more than 30 years' broadcast and media experience to Red River Radio. He began his career as a radio news reporter and transitioned to television journalism and newsmagazine production. Chuck studied mass communications at Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia and motion picture / television production at the University of California at Los Angeles. He has also taught writing for television at York Technical College in Rock Hill, South Carolina and video / film production at Centenary College of Louisiana, Shreveport.
