Protective Masks Distributed To Caddo And Bossier Residents

FREE FACE MASKS – Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards  is  urging people to wear face-masks when out in public as he is expected to ease Stay-At-Home restrictions at the end of the month.  Officials with Caddo Parish have partnered with the City of Shreveport and the Office of Homeland Security to provide over 116,000 cloth reusable masks to residents across Caddo Parish.   The masks have been provided by the Hanes Corporation.   At a joint press conference yesterday, Mayor Adrian Perkins explained how the masks will be distributed.

"The masks will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis,"Perkins said. " We will be distributing them from the following sites: Bill Cockerell,  Airport Park, Sunset Acres Park, Southern Hills Recreation Center, A.B. Palmer, David Raines, Bilberry, Valencia, A.C. Steere, and LSU-Shreveport."

Rural  Caddo Parish residents can also pick up a mask at the following sites:, North Blanchard Compactor, Hwy 1, Blanchard, Keithville Compactor, -Springridge Road, Keithville, Mayo Road Compactor, Mayo Road, Shreveport , and Westpark  Compactor, 7 West Park, Shreveport.

BOSSIER PICK-UPS:   Bossier Parish Residents can also receive masks.  Drive through distribution sites will be at: The Viking Drive Sheriff’s Substation, The Arthur Ray Teague Parkway  Substation, Old Plain Dealing Academy in Plain Dealing and  the Criminal Operations  drive through  on  Burt  Blvd. in Benton  The masks will be available at all locations on a first-come / first served basis today beginning at 8am.
