La. Tech Bulldogs Face Miami Hurricanes For Independence Bowl

INDEPENDENCE BOWL -   Holiday Bowl season is upon us and for Shreveport that means preparations are underway for the upcoming Walk On’s Independence Bowl as the official announcement came yesterday that Louisiana Tech Bulldogs  will square off against  the University of Miami Hurricanes as both teams  have accepted invitations to play in this year’s game.  After bowl officials made the announcement, Louisiana Tech Athletics held a  press conference where Bulldogs Coach Skip Holtz  shared these thoughts about the match up.

"For us to have the opportunity to play a team from the ACC,"Holtz explained "I'm really excited about it."

Although  this  will be the sixth consecutive  bowl

game  for  the  Louisiana  Tech  Bulldogs,  it will be  a  lot closer to home and that means it should have a strong  alumni  attendance.

"I look forward to the reception that we're going to receive in Shreveport," Holtz said. "I certainly encourage all Louisiana Tech alumni, family and friend to come join us on the (Dec.) 26th."

The  44th  Independence  Bowl  is sponsored  by Walk Ons,   takes place at Independence Stadium near the fairgrounds in Shreveport – afternoon Kick off is scheduled for 3pm  December 26th.  In addition to the game, there will be a several activities days before the game and for information independencebowl.org
