Covid-19 Test Positivity Up In Double-Digits For Northwest Louisiana

COVID IN NWLA – There’s been an increase in the coronavirus positivity rates in Northwest Louisiana.  According to test results from the week  December 14th to 21st  released by the Louisiana Department of Health,  Bossier Parish had 632 new cases on 4,521 tests resulting in a 14% positive test percentage.  For comparison  a week ago Bossier Parish had a 10.7% positive test percentage.  According to health experts a 5% positive test percentage is the preferred standard.  There were 15 Covid-19 related deaths in Bossier Parish last week bringing up it’s Covid-19 death total to 185.   Bossier Parish has more than 8,000 Covid-19 cases.

Caddo Parishes’ Covid-19  test positivity increased to more than 10% for the same period with 960 new positive cases on 9,463 tests.  The previous week,  Caddo Parish had a Covid-19 positive test rate of a little over 7%.  20 more Covid-19 deaths were reported in Caddo bumping the total Covid-19 death count to 492. Caddo has more than 16,000 reported Covid-19 cases so far.
