AGREEMENT REACHED - Caddo Parish has reached an agreement with the  United Daughters of the Confederacy - Shreveport Chapter 237 to allow for the relocation of the Confederate monument that sits on the grounds of the Caddo Parish Courthouse in downtown Shreveport.

According to the Shreveport Times-- Parties from both sides in the case met Monday and signed an agreement allowing the Caddo Parish Commission to remove the monument and transport it to another location, which has yet to be determined.

Last week, Caddo Commissioners voted to build a box around the monument with the intent to  “protect the sculpture from accidental or even intentional damage, and possibly remove tensions among protestors who have used its location as a rallying point over the past few weeks.
