Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller says frustration among rural Republicans over data centers, transmission lines and other state policies has grown so intense that he and some other GOP voters may refuse to vote for some Republican candidates in the November election.
Texas Public Radio’s David Martin Davies has more:

“Miller lost in the Republican primary to Nate Sheets and won’t be on the November ballot. Speaking Monday on Texas Public Radio’s The Source, Miller said there are Republican candidates he cannot vote for, although he declined to identify them. “There's some that I just can't, I'm not going to say who, but I'm not alone. I'm still out every day on the road and people tell me that all the time. They just can't, they may not be going to vote for a Democrat, but they're just going to have to leave it blank.” Miller said the backlash could result in some Republicans losing in the November 3rd general election because the Republican party is on the wrong side of a number of issues. “And many reasons. One is data centers. Another is flock cameras. Another is THC. Another, especially in rural Texas, is school choice. The school voucher thing has upset a lot of people.” Miller, a longtime supporter of President Donald Trump, also said rural Texans are upset over Trump’s plan to temporarily drop tariffs on as much as 300,000 metric tons of imported ground beef in an effort to reduce grocery prices – which he said will cause more ranchers in Texas to go bankrupt.”

The Louisiana Department of Education has released new standards for physical education that put a greater emphasis on activity.
State Superintendent of Education Dr. Cade Brumley says educators and stakeholders developed the revised standards.
Those disciplines focus on fundamental movement skills that students can use to stay active long after graduation:

Willis Knighton Health in Bossier City has become the first facility in the region to offer a new treatment for thumb arthritis. It’s called the TOUCH CMC 1 Prosthesis, and it’s being performed by hand and wrist surgery specialist Dr. Diego Miranda.
He says while traditional treatments require complete removal of the trapezium bone, this new procedure keeps it intact:

“With this procedure, we have a minimum resection of the bone; we just replace the joint surfaces.”
