Louisiana-Based United Cajun Navy Now Assisting in Search for Nancy Guthrie

The United Cajun Navy (UCN) activated its “Saw It, Report It” system, allowing people to quickly submit tips through their smartphones, as the UCN team helps out in Tucson, Ariz. The group's incident commander says, “Feel free to reach out to us, if you know where Nancy is."

The United Cajun Navy (UCN) based in Baton Rouge, is helping search for the mother of TODAY Show host Savannah Guthrie. Nancy Guthrie was abducted from her home in Tucson, Arizona during the early morning hours of February 1, 2026. The UCN is a volunteer-based nonprofit organization provides rapid disaster relief, search and rescue and humanitarian aid.
As the Louisiana Radio Network (LRN) reports, Cajun Navy Incident Commander Josh Gill says they came to assist local law enforcement. “What we’re here to do is just provide some resources. That’s it. Had some conversations with some volunteers. Got some information. Going to reach out back to the sheriff’s department.”

Gill says he and his team have also been canvassing the area near the area of the 84-year-old’s home, passing out flyers and speaking to as many people as possible. As Gill explained, “We want to help bring Nancy home. We’re not law enforcement. We just want to help. We want to provide some closure back to this family.”
The United Cajun Navy also activated its “Saw It, Report It” system, allowing people to quickly submit tips through their smartphones. Gill added, “Feel free to reach out to us, if you know where Nancy is. If you’ve seen her. If you’ve got a hot tip, anything, let us know. We’re here for one reason and one reason only - that’s to help assist finding Miss Guthrie."
