A Northwest Louisiana lawmaker has filed a resolution for the upcoming legislative session in Baton Rouge that, if approved, would encourage Congress to hold those involved with the late Jeffery Epstein accountable.
House Concurrent Resolution No. 1 would call on Louisiana’s eight-member congressional delegation “to ensure that all individuals implicated in the Epstein files are fully investigated, prosecuted, and charged through every available legal process.”
As Louisiana Public Radio reports, the resolution has been filed by District 1 State Representative Danny McCormick, R-Oil City. If approved by the legislature a copy will be sent to DC in a show of support for the survivors of an alleged child trafficking ring that was masterminded by Epstein.
McCormick, a grandfather of six, says there needs to be a show of unity in holding those accountable for their crimes against children. “We’ll know, when justice has been served is when you see these rich, uh, rich men being perp walked to the jail.”
In a Facebook post, dated February 16, McCormick elaborated, “The recently released documents expose horrific allegations of abuse, trafficking, and exploitation, and the American people deserve the full truth. This is not about party politics. This is about good vs. evil, and no one is above the law. The victims deserve justice, and I will not stop pushing until the powerful are held accountable.
Rep. McCormick, a small business owner in north Caddo Parish, first elected in 2019, says he believes Louisiana would be the first state legislature to present such a resolution to congress if it passes in the session slated to begin at noon on Monday, March 9, 2026.
