Young and old alike turned out to voice their strong feelings about the actions of the Trump Administration.

Hundreds of people converged around the Caddo Parish Courthouse in downtown Shreveport this weekend – for the “No Kings” protest. Young and old alike turned out to voice their strong feelings about the actions of the Trump Administration in these first five months of the President’s second term in the White House.
Immigration raids and the protests that have followed across the country have become the central focus at the moment. But all the federal employee layoffs and reorganizations, along with massive cuts proposed in the president’s budget have also fueled much of the push-back seen in Saturday’s protest in Shreveport.

A number of people did not want their names used in this report out of fear for any blowback they might experience from speaking their mind. But one Shreveport woman did make an observation about the crowds. “One thing I’ve noticed is, there’s lots of us and only two cars have gone by giving us the middle finger. So, if there were a lot of them they’d be here too. But what it shows is that this may be a red state in Mike Johnson’s district, but there are lot of us here who have very big concerns.”
Others described the two-hour-long protest Saturday afternoon as liberating for one reason in particular, they could freely speak their mind without fear of any reprisals or negative reactions.
