LSU Shreveport Pilots Cap Historic 59-0 Season as 2025 NAIA Baseball National Champions

The Pilots win LSU Shreveport’s first-ever national title in any sport and claim their spot in history as the only undefeated men’s college baseball team in history. Their bus arrived back on campus Sunday evening. By Monday, Festival Plaza in downtown Shreveport filled with friends, family, fans and the general public to recognize the team's achievements.

Monday Update:
The undefeated NAIA Champion LSU Shreveport Pilots men's baseball team took center state with a citywide celebration at Festival Plaza in downtown Shreveport. The event got underway at 11:30 a.m. Red River Radio News Reporter Alaina Atnip attended the victory party and will give us an inside glimpse of that celebration, beginning with a report on Tuesday morning.

The final win of the LSU Shreveport Pilot’s record-breaking season did not come easily, with Southeastern (Fla.) leading much of the way before finally succumbing to the eventual champions, in a 13-7 slugfest, concluding the Avista NAIA World Series in Lewiston, Idaho on Friday, May 30, 2025.

The LSU Shreveport Pilots baseball team achieved perfection with their 59-0 record and national NAIA title. They arrived home to a hero's welcome on Sunday evening on campus with supporters there to greet the team.

The LSU Shreveport Pilots baseball team achieved perfection with their 59-0 record and national NAIA title. They arrived home to a hero's welcome on Sunday evening on campus with supporters there to greet the team.

A welcome home celebration greeted the team on the LSU Shreveport campus Sunday evening. That's where head coach Brad Neffendorf shared his thoughts on this year's team. “They’ve just done something that’s unbelievably impossible. The feeling that I have for them and what they’ve accomplished I can’t even explain and I’m so unbelievably proud of them, I’m happy for them, excited for them. It’s unbelievable.”

Even before the final out of their championship victory, a citywide celebration had been scheduled for the team for Monday at 11:30 a.m. at Festival Plaza in Downtown Shreveport, featuring lunch, a DJ, confetti, and maybe even a Mardi gras float, according to the university.
