Eight Office of Motor Vehicle (OMV) locations in Louisiana will be open this Saturday, March 22, 2025, to give residents a chance to get their REAL ID.
OMV spokesperson Matthew Boudreaux says starting May 7 you will not be able to use your driver’s license to confirm your identity at a TSA checkpoint unless it is REAL ID compliant. “We obviously don’t want Louisiana residents being stuck at the airport or waiting in a longer line while they try to verify their identity after that date.”
Boudreaux says they will also have certain OMV field offices open on April 12 and May 3 from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The OMV in Alexandria and the one in Shreveport are among the eight locations that will be open this Saturday, March 22.
