Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill is advising consumers to be vigilant about their safety as they head out to do some holiday shopping this year. She says, Just taking a few extra steps can make all the difference. “Always be aware of your surroundings when shopping. Plan your shopping trip before you head out the door. And be patient with other customers over items. It’s just not worth it to argue of fight over merchandise.”
Murrill also cautions Louisiana citizens to beware of scams and also how you purchase something at a store during the holiday season. “Use a credit card. That way it’s easier to dispute a purchase. And don’t carry around cash. Make sure you know the store’s return policies and warranty information on electronics and appliances.” Murrell also reminds people to make sure they keep their receipts.
