Preventing Sanitation Concerns from Overshadowing the Total Solar Eclipse

PBS

Portable toilets, aka porta-potties, are in high demand to rent before the eclipse takes place on the afternoon of Monday, April 8.

The total solar eclipse is fast approaching. And with so many visitors expected to converge on the huge swath of land in Texas and Arkansas that will be in the path of totality there’s a lot of planning involved.
And it turns out, one essential service that’s in high demand is sanitation services. That means portable toilets, aka porta-potties, are now in short supply to rent – before the eclipse takes place on the afternoon of Monday, April 8.

Jots Rentals

Derek Phillips is the director of operations for JOTS Rentals in East Texas. And he tells KLTV News in Tyler They’re experiencing a steady stream of calls. “We cover 22,000 square miles of Northeast Texas. With this particular eclipse being right in the middle of it, anything from Pittsburg, Mount Pleasant, Sulphur Springs, Lindale, Tyler, Winona, Hawkins is in need of our services.”
Phillips says a lot of the rental companies are working together to accommodate the demand, and he cautions that anyone who thinks they might have a need for a porta-potty needs to call before it’s too late.
