Early voting is well underway ahead of Arkansas’ Presidential Primary for the March 5, 2024 Super Tuesday elections. Two races for seats on the Arkansas Supreme Court are perhaps the most high profile. The race for Chief Justice Position 1 includes Justice Karen Baker, Jay Martin, Justice Barbara Womack Webb, and Justice Rhonda Wood. The Associate Justice Position 2 race features Justice Courtney Hudson, and Judge Carlton D. Jones.
A number of other judgeships will be decided by voters in the next week. Three candidates are vying for a spot on the second highest court in the state, the Arkansas Court of Appeals for District 6 Position 1. Little Rock attorneys Molly McNulty and Pam Hathaway join circuit court judge Casey Tucker in the race to replace appeals court judge Rita Gruber who is not running for reelection.

Circuit courts handle a wide variety of criminal, civil and juvenile cases. Three separate district judge races are also on the ballot. District courts typically handle minor criminal and civil cases, including traffic offenses. Perryville attorney Beth Burgess is running against Circuit Court Judge Morgan “Chip” Welch in the race for State District Judge, District 31, Pulaski.
Another State District Judge race for District 31, Little Rock 1, sees Pulaski County deputy prosecutor Jill Kamps, running against Circuit Judge Mackie Pierce. The final State District Judge for District 31, Little Rock 2 pits North Little Rock attorney Robert Tellez against circuit judge Herb Wright.
