DOMINATED FROM THE START- Yesterday the two unbeaten teams in Women’s college basketball squared off in Columbia South Carolina’s Colonial Life Arena, the South Carolina Gamecocks had the home team advantage before a crowd of 18,000 fans as faced the LSU Tiger’s. This match-up was called the best the Gamecocks had all season long but even so, it became clear in the first 5 minutes as to where things might wind up as the home team racked up 18 points to LSU’s 2. When it was all over South Carolina came out on top 88 to 64. At her post-game press conference on Tiger TV, LSU’s Coach Kim Mulkey shared her thoughts.
“Well the worst thing you can do on the road is allow the home team to start from the tip and we did,” Mulkey said. “The tone for the whole game was set on the jump ball.”
LSU women’s basketball returns home Thursday to host Ole Miss in the Pete Maravich Assembly Center. The game will be at 8 p.m. on the SEC Network.
