Sanders Sworn In As First Female Governor Of Arkansas

Ark Gov

SANDERS INAGURATION - Former White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders was sworn in as Governor of Arkansas yesterday. Sanders, a Republican, took the oath of office on the Capitol steps in Little Rock alongside her family and several dignitaries, including the state’s two U.S. Senators and former Governors David Pryor, Asa Hutchinson, and Mike Huckabee, Sanders’ father.

In her inauguration speech Sanders called her election victory a “turning point” in the state’s history.

“The passing of the torch is always a historic occasion but it’s not a torch to burn something down. But instead to light a path for a new generation of service and leadership. This day is especially notable because I happen to be the youngest governor serving anywhere in the country,” Sanders said.

After her inauguration ceremony, Arkansas Governor Sara Huckabee Sanders signed seven executive orders ranging from a freeze on state hiring and regulations as well as barring indoctrination and teaching "Critical Race Theory" in public schools.
