GOV EDWARDS ENDORSES TARVER- The run-off for Shreveport Mayor between Democrat State Senator Greg Tarver and Republican-former city councilman Tom Arceneaux has brought some interesting endorsements to light. Outgoing Democrat Mayor Adrian Perkins, and two former Shreveport Mayors Ollie Tyler and State Representative Cedric Glover announced their endorsements for Republican Tom Arceneaux. Yesterday Governor John Bel Edwards paid a visit to Shreveport to announce his endorsement of fellow Democrat Tarver. During his comments, Edwards said investments in NW Louisiana’s medical corridor, bridges and infrastructure were supported by Tarver and that his coalition of support is why he is endorsing the State Senator for Shreveport Mayor.

“And this is the sort of coalition that it takes not just to win, although that’s critically important, but then to be effective when you govern so that you can put those people together and you can really create momentum and be successful. That’s what Senator Tarver knows, that’s why I chose to come up here today to endorse him,” Edwards explained.

Early voting for the Shreveport Mayoral, city council, and school board run-off elections take place until December 3rd, and final run-off election day is Saturday, December 10th.
