TX VOTER REG DEADLINE- Today -Jan. 31st is the deadline for Texans to register to vote in the March 1st primary election. Mimi Marziani is the president of the Texas Civil Rights Project. Her group has set up a statewide voter protection hotline to help Texans experiencing any difficulties registering to vote.
“We have a hotline: 866-OUR-VOTE. That’s O-U-R-V-O-T-E,” Marsiani explained. “And, if voters have any questions or concerns or run into any roadblocks at all, they can call that number, and our lawyers and hundreds of trained volunteers will be able to help you out".
More than 17 million people in Texas are already registered to vote. Early voting begins on February 14. And to check your voter registration status online: there’s the Texas Secretary of State’s website: www.votetexas.gov . You can’t register online but you can print out the registration form, fill it out and drop off at your local registrar of voter’s office or mail it but it must be postmarked with today’s date, 30 days before election day for eligibility in the upcoming primary.
