Metropolitan Opera's Saturday Schedule on Red River Radio

Join us beginning Saturday, December 8 at 12 noon for the 82nd season of the Metropolitan Opera. The Met’s 2012-13 Saturday Matinee Season opens with Verdi’s ‘Un Ballo In Maschera’ and five more live productions of Verdi operas will follow with ‘Aida’ on December 15, ‘Il Trovatore’ on January 12, ‘Rigoletto’ on February 16, ‘Don Carlo’ March 9, and ‘La Traviata’ on March 30. Plus, from the Archives we’ll hear a classic performance of Verdi’s ‘La Forza Del Destino. The season also features the broadcast premier of Adés’ ‘The Tempest’ and the broadcast premiere of Donizetti’s ‘Maria Stuard’ as well as five Wagner Masterpieces, including  ‘Parsifal’ on March 2 and the complete Ring Cycle with  ‘Das Rheingold’ on April 6,  ‘Die Walküre’ on April 13,  ‘Siegfried’ on April 20 and closing the season out will be  ‘Götterdämmerung’ on May 11.  Opera’s by ‘Rossini, Puccini, Berlioz, Bizet, Handel, Poulenc, and Zandonai’ fill out this season of Live Saturday Matinee broadcasts.
