FREEZING WEATHER KEEPS SCHOOLS CLOSED FOR WED.

FREEZING WEATHER - Temperatures today MAY  reach the freezing mark this  afternoon, BUT will quickly fall into the lower to  middle teens overnight.  The National Weather Service reports  bridges  and overpasses may continue to have slick spots with certain highways likely remaining closed through tonight.  Otherwise, no hazardous weather is expected

ICE ON ROADWAYS IS STILL A PROBLEM --- ROAD CLOSURES in NW LOUISIANA

Benton Road Railroad overpass is closed.

I-220 in Shreveport-Bossier is closed

I-49 North of Shreveport is closed all the way to the Arkansas State Line.

I-49 running south from I-20 to 3132 is also closed. ACCORDING TO THE DRIVE-TEXAS WEBSITE –there are icy road advisories on bridges and overpasses on I-20 through to Dallas.  But no closures…

HIGHWAYS in SOUTH ARKANSAS appear to be mostly clear… but reports are that Highway 82 between Eldorado to Magnolia and even all the way to Texarkana  might have patchy ice-- so motorists are advised to drive with caution.

Most schools, colleges and universities  in the RED RIVER RADIO LISTENING AREA REMAIN CLOSED due to the weather…

Public Schools in Caddo, Bossier, DeSoto,  Grant, Natchitoches, Rapides,  Red River and  Webster  Parish Schools remain closed.
Exceptions are:   Centenary College of Louisiana, Nacogdoches ISD will delay start of classes  2 hours today.   And Stephen F Austin State University’s Facebook page indicates  regular class schedule will resume as well.
