General Honore' To Speak At Shreveport-Bossier Crimestoppers Fundraiser

RAGIN' CAJUN GENERAL - Retired Lt. General Russell Honore’,  a Louisiana native who was commander of Joint Task Force Katrina during the recovery of New Orleans after the hurricane.  He’s written a book SURVIVAL – and how preparedness can save your family from disasters.  He’s the keynote speaker at the 2nd Biennial Fundraising Gala for Shreveport-Bossier Crimestoppers  this Friday evening at Sam’s Town Ballroom.  General Honore's focus will be on how the world's population growth,  along with the dynamics of weather / climate-change will create tension for all nations in the near future and how people can prepare for what he calls "the new normal".  Honoré served as the 33rd commanding general of the U.S. First Army at Fort Gillem, Georgia. Chuck Smith brings more than 30 years' broadcast and media experience to Red River Radio. He began his career as a radio news reporter and transitioned to television journalism and newsmagazine production. Chuck studied mass communications at Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia and motion picture / television production at the University of California at Los Angeles. He has also taught writing for television at York Technical College in Rock Hill, South Carolina and video / film production at Centenary College of Louisiana, Shreveport.
