Tropical Storm Harvey May Affect South Louisiana

BATON ROUGE, LA. —FEMA officials met Tuesday with Gov. John Bel Edwards as the remnants of Tropical Storm Harvey appear headed to Texas and could cause heavy rain in parts of south Louisiana this weekend.  Although Harvey may not reach Louisiana, heavy rainfall and high winds are expected to reach New Orleans which is still dealing with repairs of pumping stations that failed during recent flooding. While it’s uncertain if Harvey will turn towards Louisiana,  residents in the southern part of the state are urged to take emergency precautions.
