ARKANAS TROOPERS GET NARCAN - Arkansas State Police will distribute two canisters  to each patrol unit of the nasal spray Narcan a drug used to save a person’s life who suffers  a drug overdose caused by opioid abuse.  According to ARKANSAS STATE POLICE spokesperson Bill Sadler, having the antidote in the hands of first responders will be helpful in rural parts of the state.  State troopers are often the first responders to a medical emergency and will follow their training to administer the drug to an unconscious individual if they believe there’s a chance the person has overdosed on opioids.  Arkansas State Police are expected to complete NARCAN training by the end of August.
