TEXAS HAIL DAMAGE 2016: Hailstorms caused over five-billion-dollars-worth of damage to Texas homes in 2016. That amounts to the highest annual losses ever – topping the previous record set in 2015 of almost 2-billion-dollars in losses. Last year – between April and May – 45 hailstorms were pummeling some part of the Lone Star state. The Insurance Council of Texas cited the reason for such losses were due to large metropolitan areas being hit by massive hailstorms.
