Zika Virus Case Confirmed In Caddo Parish

ZIKA VIRUS IN CADDO PARISH:  The Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals has confirmed a case of Zika virus in a person living in Caddo Parish. In a report released Friday,  the DHH explained the case is one of three new cases in Louisiana that was travel-related. The current total of Zika cases in Louisiana is 26. Mosquitoes are the main method for transmission however the disease can be transmitted sexually.  People are urged to use prevention measures such as insect repellant, long-sleeved clothing and removal of standing water.  For more information: http://www.dhh.louisiana.gov/index.cfm/page/2478
