Shreveport Little Theatre: Guys and Dolls

Tickets are now on sale for Shreveport Little Theatre’s first production of its 104th Main Stage season, the musical comedy Guys and Dolls. With music and lyrics by Frank Loesser and book by Jo Swerling and Abe Burrows, Guys and Dolls has been hailed by critics as the “ perfect musical comedy “.

The Tony Winning classic takes audiences on a dazzling ride through the streets of 1950s New York City — where gamblers, showgirls, and missionaries’ cross paths in hilarious and heartfelt ways. When suave gambler Sky Masterson (Adam Philley) bets he can win the heart of prim-and-proper missionary Sarah Brown (Tessa VanderKuy), the odds are anything but predictable. Meanwhile, lovable schemer Nathan Detroit (Jason Coffel) tries to finally say “I do” to his ever-patient fiancée, Miss Adelaide (Heather Roan). Featuring timeless tunes like “Luck Be a Lady” and “Sit Down, You’re Rockin’ the Boat”, this toe-tapping crowd-pleaser promises big laughs, big romance, and even bigger talent — all on the SLT stage!

Guys and Dolls is directed and choreographed by Laura Beeman Nugent, with assistant director Kaelon Gerard and music director Adam Philley. Eddie Carney will conduct the musical with Lela Robichaux serving as Production Stage Manager. The creative production team includes Set Design by David White, Costume Design by Kimberli Condon, Lighting Design by Julie Edwards, Sound Design by Zach Doucet, Properties Design by Jason Coffel and Set Construction by Jade Dishman & Eugen Crook.

Guys and Dolls runs for two consecutive weekends, opening Thursday, July 17 with performances on the 18,19,25, and 26 at 7:30 PM and July 20, 26,and 27 at 2:00 PM.
