The U.S. Capitol grounds with a magnolia tree in bloom

Live Stream on Wednesday, January 6, 2021. The final step under the constitution in every presidential election is for a joint session of Congress to meet and count the Electoral College votes submitted by the states. Governors in all 50 states have certified and sealed their states' results after their electors signed off on them on Dec. 14, and Joe Biden and Kamala Harris won with 306 votes to Donald Trump and Mike Pence's 232 votes. Today, congress will officially declare the winner.
