Metropolitan Opera: Mozart's Così fan tutte
Airs Saturday, March 31, 2018, at 12 noon. The 2017-18 Metropolitan Opera Radio Broadcast season continues with Così fan tutte, Mozart’s comedy about love and fidelity. Amanda Majeski and Serena Malfi are the sisters Fiordiligi and Dorabella, unwitting victims of an elaborate hoax; Tony Award winner Kelli O’Hara is their conniving maid, Despina; Ben Bliss and Adam Plachetka are their fiancés Ferrando and Guglielmo, who conspire to test the sisters’ fidelity; and Christopher Maltman is the cynical mastermind Don Alfonso. David Robertson conducts. The new production by Phelim McDermott adopts a carnival atmosphere inspired by 1950s Coney Island with real-life sideshow and circus performers bringing their talents to the Met stage. Così fan tutte will be heard live over Toll Brothers-Metropolitan Opera International Radio Network at 12:00 noon CT on Saturday, March 31.
