Health Matters: Insects and Insect-Borne Illnesses

Mosquito.jpg

Airs Thursday, July 9, at 6 p.m. It’s summertime and summer activities can expose us to insects, some of which may bring health hazards. Join Dr. Randall Brewer for Health Matters this week when he'll be joined by guests, Dr. Beverly Burden, an Associate Professor of Biological Sciences and entomologist at LSUS; and Dr. Joseph Bocchini, a pediatric infectious disease specialist and Chair of Pediatrics at LSU Health Shreveport. We’ll talk about mosquitoes and other pesky insects and how to avoid insect borne illness and recognize symptoms. Questions will be taken at 1-800-552-8502 or via Twitter @rrrpublicradio.
