Arkansas Sees Biggest One-Day Covid-19 Spike

ARKANSAS COVID-19 SPIKE -  Arkansas has hit another one-day record for new coronavirus cases, and the governor says plans to further loosen restrictions on businesses remains on hold because of the spike.  Appearing at a press conference with the Covid-19 update, Governor Asa Hutchinson revealed the numbers.      

"Since yesterday we have an additional 375 cases here in Arkansas which is the highest number of community cases that we've seen in a one-day span of time," Hutchinson explained.

The Arkansas  Health Department  said Tuesday at least 7,818 people in the state have tested positive for the virus. That's an increase over the 7,443 reported Monday. All but one of the cases were from communities and one from a correctional facility. The Secretary of the Health Department said it marked the largest one-day increase in cases among the non-incarcerated. Arkansas also hit a new high in people hospitalized because of the virus.
