Red River Radio's Kermit Poling speaks with cast members from Shreveport Little Theatre's new production of the musical Cabaret.
Shreveport Little Theatre is pleased to announce that tickets for its production of Cabaret, the opening production of the theatre's 105th Season, Legendary: The Stories That Shaped History, are now on sale.
The production is directed and choreographed by Laura Beeman Nugent, with music direction by Adam Philley. The production team includes Production Stage Manager Lela Robichaux, Assistant Stage Managers Jason Coffel and Kendrah Shields, with Coffel also serving as Properties Master, Set Design by David White, Lighting Design by Julie Edwards as Lighting Designer, Sound Design by Jacob Alexander Webb, Costumes by LisaAnn Kemper, and intimacy coordination is provided by Tessa VanderKuy.
Opening July 16, 2026, Cabaret transports audiences to Berlin's Kit Kat Club during the final days of the Weimar Republic. In a Berlin nightclub, as the 1920s draw to a close, a garish Master of Ceremonies welcomes the audience and assures them they will forget their troubles at the Cabaret.
With the Emcee’s bawdy songs as wry commentary, Cabaret explores the dark and tumultuous life of Berlin’s natives and expatriates as Germany yields to the emerging Third Reich. Cliff, a young American writer newly arrived in Berlin, is immediately taken with English singer Sally Bowles. Meanwhile, Fräulein Schneider, proprietor of Cliff and Sally’s boarding house, begins a romance with Herr Schultz, a mild-mannered fruit seller who happens to be Jewish. Featuring unforgettable songs including "Willkommen," "Maybe This Time," and the title number "Cabaret," the musical explores a society caught between celebration and uncertainty.
Leading the company is Nathan Gay as the iconic Emcee, with Elise Birmingham as Sally Bowles and Stephen Atkins as Cliff Bradshaw. Karyn Rimmer stars as Fräulein Schneider and John Medlin as Herr Schultz. Luke DiGilormo plays Ernst Ludwig, and Amelia Osborn plays Fräulein Kost. Rounding out the cast is Myel Saimon as Fritze, Bailey Monk as Texas, E.G. Rambo as Lulu, Heather Broadwell Roan as Frenchie, Brittany Gay as Rosie, Ashlyn Underwood as Helga, Oliver Robin Lock as Herman, Braden Tucker as Hans, Brody Hines as Victor, and Robert Kesler Perkins as Bobby. Presley Walsworth, Liesl Cruz, Jessica Miller, Colleen Andrews, and Tessa VanderKuy are the Kit Kat Girls, with Bree Holland and Da'Jah Taylor as Kit Kat Hostesses.
Production dates are July 16,17,24, and 25 – 7:30 PM. And July 18, 19, 26 – 2:00 PM
The 105th Main Stage Season also includes Come From Away, Anastasia, Shakespeare in Love, and The Diary of Anne Frank, giving audiences a season of legendary stories brought to life on the SLT stage.
