Shreveport Green returns to The Seventh Tap for the Annual Give 4 Green Fundraiser on Tuesday, May 6, 2025 from 6:00 PM to 10:00!
🍃 This FREE, ALL-AGES celebration will feature live music, 28+ local food and art vendors, interactive eco-art, and a recycled art contest... and did we mention it’s all going down at The Seventh Tap? Specialized Give 4 Green beer will be brewed for this event only!
🪨 Bring the kids along for some rock painting, recycled art, green games, and family-friendly fun. On the stage, catch live music sets from local musicians Mack Swans, Jaquan Davis, Signs of Stress, and HAG, with 10-minute poetry readings between sets.
🌸 With all the fun, don’t forget: Shreveport Green is looking to raise $30,000 to put towards making Shreveport greener, cleaner, and more sustainable every day.

SFA Gardens Lecture to Feature Snake Woman’s Garden
Nacogdoches, TX-- SFA Gardens will host the monthly Theresa and Les Reeves Lecture Series at 7:00 pm on May 8th in the Ina Brundrett Conservation Education Building at the Pineywoods Native Plant Center, 2900 Raguet Street, Nacogdoches. Kimberly Benton, Texas A & M Agrilife Extension Agent, will share her insights about Snake Woman’s Garden located at Caddo Mounds State Historic Site near Alto, Texas.Benton earned her Master of Science degree in Agriculture at Stephen F Austin State University under Dr. David Creech in 2006 and has served as Texas A & M AgriLife Extension Agent for Horticulture in Cherokee County since 2010.She enjoys a focus on connecting with the environment and nurturing the relationship between people and nature through classes and projects like Snake Woman’s Garden as well as school gardens within the county and many public education opportunities. She has been blessed to share her knowledge in locations as far reaching as Romania and has had national rose trials in Maine and at the Smithsonian gardens.The Theresa and Les Reeves Lecture Series is held the second Thursday of each month and includes a plant raffle after the program. Attendance is free and open to the public, and donations to the lecture series fund are always appreciated. The Shreveport Regional Arts Council and Bossier Arts Council present monthly GloFests debuting new light shows on the "Bakowski Bridge of Lights" on the Texas Street Bridge. Glo Fests will rotate between the Shreveport Riverview Plaza and the Bossier Louisiana Boardwalk and will feature an Arts Market, Food Truck Court, Street Performances by Spinner Entertainment and more! These FREE festivals will introduce new animated light shows on the "Bakowski Bridge" produced by the Light It Up Artist Team and Caddo Parish Students. The June Glo Fest will feature a student designed show to kick off the party, followed by a program honoring their Adopt a Light Patrons, a Light Show made during ArtBreak and another chance to see Academy Award Winner William Joyce's dynamic light show from their opening night.
