Brass Band Concert: The Crown
Brass Band Concert: The Crown
The British Brass Band of Louisiana performs "The Crown," a concert of music for, about and by kings of England. In recognition of the recent coronation of King Charles III, the program includes music by English master composers, as well as a work by King Henry VIII. Close your eyes and imagine the pomp and circumstance of a coronation concert with Vaughan Williams's epic "Henry V Overture", Walton's stirring coronation march "Crown Imperial", and Holst's timeless classic "A Moorside Suite". Also on the program, Peter Graham's virtuosic variations on Rule Britannia, "Brillante," featuring our music director John Caputo and our principal euphonium, Masahito Kuroda. It's a free concert, performed by some of the finest brass and percussion musicians in the region. We hope to see you there!
