Making God Laugh is a heartwarming comedy about one family as the parents and their three grown children gather together during significant moments in their lives. As they navigate love, loss, and career changes over thirty years' worth of holidays, they see how time and circumstances shape their relationships and dreams. With witty dialogue and relatable characters, Making God Laugh gently reminds us that life is full of unexpected twists, and sometimes, the best-laid plans are subject to forces beyond our control.

Join Texas Parks and Wildlife Department and our partners for a free event all about nature, prescribed fire and how it benefits humans and wildlife alike!
This is the first annual East Texas Fire and Nature Festival!
Join us for a day of nature-based hands-on activities aimed at families, as well as short, guided walks and special speaker presentations. There will be a variety of fire engines and equipment on-site and a live demonstration of prescribed fire. The fire demonstration is weather-dependent. Both the hikes and the presentations will meet at the Nature Center building.
Guided walks will take place on a variety of surface types and will last 20-30 minutes, starting every hour from 10:00 until end of event. Please note there is no hike at noon.

Our special speaker presentations will start on the half hour and will last 15-20 minutes inside the Nature Center building.

Join us every Saturday during the growing season! Markets begin at 8 AM and end at Noon.
Each market will feature farm-fresh vegetables, locally grown and sourced meat, and more.
This is a rain or shine market; the vendors will set up under the pavilion if it rains.

Coming to the Virginia Cook Gallery is this June is "The Inner Realms" by local artist, Dyra Turner!
In "The Inner Realms", Dyra works with oil paint and glass mosaics to blend themes of transformation and imagination, creating pieces that reflect personal growth and invite viewers to connect with their own experiences.
See her work during the Opening Reception on Friday, June 6th from 6pm - 8pm.
This artwork will be on display from June 3rd - July 29th, 2025.
