Aerial Footage of Treacherous Road Conditions in Caddo Parish

The Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office has released aerial images from the CPSO Drone Unit, which show the icy road conditions at various spots in the parish. Motorists are urged to use extreme caution when traveling.

The five aerial images seen in this composite picture show the widespread impacts across Caddo Parish caused by Winter Storm Fern. Lieutenant Breck Scott released the images from the CPSO Drone Unit taken in the morning hours of Monday, January 26, 2026.
Lt. Scott says, "with temperatures expected to remain below freezing for several days, hazardous icy conditions will persist on roadways, especially on residential streets and rural routes."
Scott also urged drivers to use extreme caution when driving, and avoid traveling unless absolutely necessary.

Louisiana Highway 79

* A complete road closure is currently in effect on Louisiana Highway 79, from Louisiana Highway 80 southbound to Locust Hill Road. This closure is due to multiple 18-wheelers struggling to navigate the hill because of icy road conditions.

Buncombe Road
* There was a complete road closure on Buncombe Road, just west of Louisiana Highway 169. This closure had occurred due to a 18-wheelers that have jackknifed, blocking both the eastbound and westbound lanes.
UPDATE:
All Westbound and Eastbound lanes on Buncombe Road are back open
