SLT presents Beautiful: The Carole King Musical

Red River Radio's Kermit Poling speaks with actors Tessa VanderKuy and Kyle Boston about SLT's new production of Beautiful, opening July 18 at Shreveport Little Theatre.

SLT's production of Beautiful: The Carole King Musical is directed and choreographed by Laura Beeman Nugent, with musical direction by Adam Philley and Wallace Rakoczy as Production Stage Manager. Shalem Carr serves as Assistant Choreographer for the production. Allison-Rebekah Miller will take the stage as Carole King, with Luke Digilormo portraying Gerry Goffin. Tessa VanderKuy and Kyle Boston will play the songwriting duo Cynthia Weil and Barry Mann, respectively. Heather Roan will appear as Genie Klein and Scott Hardwick will be Donny Kirschner. Representing the 60's pop group The Drifters are Braden Tucker, Jarius Knowles, Donovan Roe, and Saige Williams, in addition to The Shirelles – Barbara Holmes, Sachiri Henderson, Charleszette Roe, and Tierra Williams. The cast of historical 60's musicians includes Barry Larson as Neil Sedaka, Ron Walsworth, and Nathan Gay as The Righteous Brothers, Daniel Moore as Lou Adler, and LisaAnn Kemper as Marilyn Wald. Ensemble members include Alissa Smith (Lucille), Brittany Gay (Betty), Raeven Bullock, Shalem Carr, Camryn Orr, and Leo VanderKuy.
