Storms Hit East Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, And Mississippi

TORNADO DAMAGE AND DEATHS - At least 5 people are dead and dozens injured after tornadoes tore through parts of Oklahoma, Texas, Louisiana  and  Mississippi  last  night.  Three  people  died when an apparent tornado  touched  down about 6 p.m. Wednesday near Onalaska, Texas  about 60 miles southwest of Lufkin.  Crews from the National Weather Service will be out to survey damage later this morning.  Charles Roeseler is with the National Weather Service in Houston 

​"At this time we really don't know the intensity of the tornado yet, but we do know there was a tornado on the ground." Roeseler explained. "It did significant damage. It did of course knock down trees, power lines, dozens of mobile homes were overturned."

Also, a Rapides Parish woman was killed on a bridge in Woodworth, Louisiana, 15 miles south of Alexandria.  Another Storm related death occurred  in  DeSoto  Parish as a man had a fallen in a drainage ditch and was carried away by rushing water and apparently drowned.
